Shiba Park: Tokyo Tower II

A view of Tokyo Tower from Shiba Park/Zojo-ji.
Since 1958, Tokyo Tower has been seen above the environs of Shiba Park and Roppongi. The structure towers above Zojo-ji temple and provides beautiful night views of Tokyo. The structure itself was patterned after the Eiffel Tower in Paris and stands at 332.6 meters tall. It is the tallest building in Japan and currently the 11th tallest in the world.

Temple Haiden, at Shiba Tokyo (1880s and 2009)

Zojo-ji and the Toshogu at Shiba Park in Tokyo have changed quite a bit over the years. Apparently the Temple Haiden, seen in the "Then" photo, was essentially an entryway to the main building. Here we see the front of the main building.
