We stayed at a tradidtional Japanese inn. It is run by 3 generations of a family, and apart from the new air conditioning and Television, it has not transformed considerably for a loong time. Rice mats cover the floors, there is not considerably furnishings and you recieve a pair of as well little slippers for use within.

Kumano Kodo inn

1 of the really old inns along the Kumano Ancient Road in Nakahechi. You have to make a reservation to remain at them anymore, but they are nonetheless the same design they were hundreds of years ago.
